Anatomy and Physiology

Course Description: This course will cover all human body systems. Laboratory investigations and dissections will be an integral part of the course. Students will apply knowledge of the human body to medical, microbiological, and forensic scenarios through case studies.

Quarter 1: Movement, Form, and Energy

Unit 1: Organization of the Body and Biochemistry
Unit 2: Movement and Form
Unit 3: Transport of Nutrients and Oxygen

(Semester 1 only)
Quarter 1 Project: Students will create educational materials related to a disease.

Quarter 2: Response, Development, and Health

Unit 5: Senses and Responses
Unit 6: Reproductive Health and the Urinary System
Unit 7: Blood and Microbiology
Quarter 2 Project: Students will create and teach a lesson related to a disease.
